Composition 9/11


Simplicity-
I chose this photo for simplicity because there's nothing in the background, and the only focus is the subject itself.

Rule of Thirds-
This photo follows rule of thirds because the focus - the two men hugging/the police officer hugging - is not in the middle of the screen, for it's on the edge, almost perfectly in line with the grid of thirds.
Lines-
This follows lines because of all the lines surrounding the subject, almost making the subject more defined/standing out.

Balance-
This photo is balanced because it has all of the surrounding areas be the same, making the background balanced.

Framing-
This is framing because it has a bridge or window at the bottom of the screen framing the building.

Merger-
The subject of this photo is merged with the black wall, for his suit is the same color.
