PetaPixel Projection
I spent my time looking at the photos, but I mainly watched the video showing two people use a projector to make these designs. They went out to a forest, found a subject to add the design to, and then they created the design right there by highlighting certain parts of their subject.
I learned about how you can make cool designs of something in the world without having to use photoshop. It takes a long time depending on how much detail you add, but the result you get is fantastic.
I chose this photo because the design on the tree looks amazing.
The photo does not have a large amount of rules that it follows, but it does mainly use perspective and viewpoint.
Terek Mawad took the photo.
In the video, I watched the designer make the design on the tree and the other person point at certain details to add.
Terek Mawad mainly shoots projector images.
Terek Mawad and Frederick van Schoor wanted to know what it would look like using projectors in a wild terrain where the surface is not flat. Projectors are mainly used on flat surfaces, but these two wanted to do something different.
I learned that projectors can really help make a photo more interesting and attention stealing.
Oldest Living Thing
I spent my time looking at the photos and reading the description of the project. It was very interesting to learn about how the photographer did research to find the oldest things known.
I learned that this photographer approaches her subjects as if she is taking a portrait and am going to use the same tactic because of how well her photos turned out.
I picked this photo because I like the color and design the tree has made and it looks good.
I see rule of thirds, some balance, and use of viewpoint and perspective.
Rachel Sussman took the photos.
I saw several photos that were of things found in nature, such as trees, rocks, caves, etc. I also saw a description of the project and learned how much research and time she put into her photos.
I learned that following a large amount of composition rules, researching your subject, and coming at the subject with a different perspective adds up to an amazing photo.
This related to photography because it shows a project that a photographer did and the photos the photographer took.
LightStalking
I spent my time looking at photos and reading the small descriptions underneath them. I only read the photos that were interesting to me.
I learned that the perspective can change the entire way a photo looks.
I picked this photo because I like the color of the sky and the line the rock formation is making.
I see lines and the use of viewpoint.
Mark Basarab took this photo.
I saw a lot of photos that had a variety of subjects. I also read descriptions of what the photos were which helped get insight on what the photographer was shooting.
I learned that the time of day can change a photo in a negative or positive way.
This is related to photography because it is showcasing different photos and their photographers.
PetaPixel UV Liquid
I spent most of my time watching the video which showed us how they make photos that look the way they do. I also admired the photos taken above the video.
I learned that you can create an amazing photo as long as you can think of how to create it.
I picked this photo because I love how these two colors add to make a very appealing design and coloration.
I see lines and framing as well as the use of view point.
In the video I saw the process of making these designs which made an amazing result. They would put droplets of coloring in water and the camera would shoot rapidly. The creator of the design gets to choose where the droplets enter, but barely get a choice of what happens after that.
Don Komarechka is the photographer specializes with shooting snowflakes.
I learned how any simple subject can be interesting with the right creativity added to it.
