- This photo is a protest by buddhists because their government had treated them unfairly. Thich Quang Duc lit himself on fire as a protest, and the protest led to the way people saw the government. The American people then questioned their relations with that government and President Kennedy said "No news picture in history has generated so much emotion around the world as that one."

- This photo was one of the first photos taken from the Hubble Space Telescope after 5 years of maintenance and waiting. It became an astonishing photo because of how long the formation was, for it was 5 light-years long. This photo is known as The Pillars of Creation and is of a nebula.
- The original caption of this photo was named the shuttle incorrectly, for it was Discovery but the original caption named it Atlantis.

- This photo was taken moments before the Soviets invaded Prague. The Soviets invaded Prague because they were scared that there would be a democratic uprising like in Hungary, 1956. This photo was taken after citizens tried to set barricades, confuse soldiers by removing street signs, throwing stones at tanks, etc.
- The photos were smuggled out to a London newspaper where the photographer's name, Josef Koudelka, was hidden, going by PP, or Prague Photographer. Koudelka later fled Czechoslovakia in fear that the soviets would find out his identity.
